Mouth-blown,
strip-grinded and then acid-treated to achieve the characteristic 'silk effect'
of fine glass, Bianca's diffusers are available in three diameters that
complement all thirteen types of fixtures in the family. The largest one
measures 50 cm in diameter and, due to its size and quantity of glass, has
represented, represents and will continue to represent an authentic challenge even
for the most skilled glassblowers, accustomed to blowing glass at a standstill.
According to the traditional Venetian production process, no external aids are
needed to spin and shape the mass of glass in the mould, but only the use of
one's own mastery and lung capacity. Bianca is available as a free-standing
lamp without stem, as a table lamp and floor lamp with stem and base, as a
pendant lamp and as a wall and ceiling lamp. The matt white colour of the
paintwork applied to the various metal supports recalls the name and colour of
the diffuser. White produces a diffuse, very warm and enveloping light emission
in the surrounding environment.
